rewind, a charlotte storytellers [farewell] showcase

Knock knock.

Who’s there?

A bunch of storytellers from the past.

A bunch of storytellers from the past who?

A bunch of storytellers from the past who can’t wait to bring back their stories!

That’s right. We’re turning back the clocks (a week after the rest of America). We’re rewinding our cassettes (except we don’t own any anymore). We’re breaking out our Time Turners (a la Book 3 era Hermione Granger).

We’re bringing back a set of eight particularly poignant stories from as far back as July 2015. Change is coming and we’re nostalgic for the past three years’ worth of amazing stories. So we’re going back! Come out to hear the stories you loved and the ones you missed the first time around.

Doors at 7:30 pm, show at 8 pm.

This will be a free show. BYOB (and as always, BYOP). Not suitable for little ears.

Can’t wait to see you at this blast from the past!

Join us every Monday at 7:30 pm for our weekly workshops. Our meetings are at The Third Place, in Elizabeth.

We spend the first hour playing storytelling games, and during the second hour members can tell stories and receive feedback. Each meeting has a theme.

The Third Place is a non-profit coffee shop that is building opportunity and entrepreneurial skills with west Charlotte residents. The shop is a collaboration between the neighbors of Enderly Park, QC Family Tree, and Caldwell Presbyterian Church. In a renovated space at Caldwell, neighbors have created a welcoming space that builds community, creates connections, and sells really good coffee. The shop is open Monday through Friday from 8-1.

Keep up with our Monday meetings on our Facebook and Meetup groups to find out the theme and location!

Weekly Meetings

Charlotte Storytellers is fueled by the weekly workshops. Every Monday, we play silly improv games and tell stories on a theme. Meetings begin at 7:30 pm at The Third Place. Feel free to bring a story, or just come ready to listen!

Every season, we host a showcase, which is the most polished event we put on. Eight storytellers perform stories that they have been working on for a month. Each event features stories, games, prizes and surprises.

Every few months, we host StorySlams, which are open mics on a theme. People who want to perform can put their names in a hat at the beginning of the night, and performers' names are chosen by lottery. A StorySlam is a great way to get your feet wet if you want to try your hand at performance storytelling.
